*The admission process at the Institute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Court of Ahmedabad.

Up to 85% of the total intake is likely to be filled-in under General category. Over and above the approved intake, 15% supernumerary seats will be for Persons of Indian Origin(PIO)/Foreign Nationals (FN) and Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries- South East Asia (CIWGC-SEA). The application procedure and detailed information regarding eligibility for admission under FN/PIO/CIWGC-SEA category will be separably notified by the University.

  • A candidate should have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate Examinations (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with not less than 45% aggregate marks by the date of declaration of ILNU merit.
  • Candidates applying to the institute must have obtained the required qualification i.e. (10+2) results by the date of declaration of ILNU merit.
  • The eligibility for the age criteria will be same as prescribed by the CLAT 2019 Authority.
  • Admission is based on the inter se All India merit rank of CLAT 2019.
  • Candidates must fill CLAT 2019 application form before filling in ILNU Application Form.

A candidate should have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate Examinations (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with not less than 45% aggregate marks. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2019 are also eligible for applying to the Institute. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

There will be no upper age limit for UG Programme (B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) / B. Com., LL.B. (Hons.) in ILNU Admission 2019.

In view of the Bar Council of India, Legal Education Rules -2008, University Grants Commission Act and Regulations, decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the applicants who have obtained 10+2 higher secondary pass certificate after pursuing studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the five year integrated programme. However, the applicants who have obtained 10+2 through open universities system directly without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies are not eligible for admission in the integrated five year programme.

Mode of Application

  • There is only one mode of application, i.e., ONLINE. The online application can be accessed by a candidate by registering self by creating a LOGIN ACCOUNT.

Mode of payment (Form Processing fee)

  • General Category – INR 2500/- + Applicable Taxes (GST @ 18%) = INR 2950.
  • NRI / NRI Sponsored Category – INR 3500/- + Applicable Taxes (GST @ 18%) = INR 4130. (Candidates applying to NRI / NRI Sponsored category would also be considered under general category subject to fulfillment of basic eligibility criteria).
  • The payment shall be remitted by Credit Card/Debit Card or Net Banking.

Last date for Receiving Application Form

  • Candidates can access and submit the application Online from January 18, 2019 to May 24, 2019.
  • The Online application will effectively be closed by 11:59 PM on May 24, 2019 and the Institute shall not be responsible for any delay/technical fault for filling up the Online form on the last day. Therefore, aspiring candidates are requested to fill-up the Online form well in advance to avoid last minute rush.
  • No Online/Offline communication shall be entertained after closing the Online application (i.e., after May 24, 2019).

  1. After the declaration of merit list as per the scheduled Admission Calendar, the
    first 500 candidates in the merit list of the Institute of Law, Nirma University will
    be invited for First round of Counseling.
  2. If the seats remain vacant after the first round of counseling, the next candidates
    in the merit list will be invited for the second round of counseling.
  3. Attending the counseling would not necessarily result in admission and the
    same shall be strictly subject to the availability of seats in the respective
    programme and verification of the documents pertaining to eligibility.
  4. The candidates who remain present at counseling and not able to secure the
    admission during the counseling due to non availability of seats on the day of
    counseling will be put in the waiting list.

Kindly note:

  • The Invitation for the first round of Counseling will be placed in our website
    along with the declaration of the merit list.
  • The announcement for the second round of counseling shall be placed in the
    website only if the seats are remain vacant after the first round of counseling.
  • The preference of B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.)/B.Com., LL.B.(Hons.) Programme will be
    decided at the time of counseling based on the merit and availability of the seats
    in the respective programme.

Qualified candidates are required to compulsorily bring the following originals
documents and three sets of attested photocopies of the same, which are to be
submitted at the time of counseling.

  1. School leaving certificate/Birth Certificate showing date of birth.
  2. Migration certification (if applicable).
  3. S. S. C. mark sheet.
  4. Marks sheet of the qualifying examination (10+2).
  5. Character certificate from the institution last attended.
  6. Three passport size photographs.
  7. CLAT19 Admit Card & Score Sheet.
  8. Filled-in Registration Form (downloadable from the website)
  9. Anti Ragging Affidavit – Once admitted, students are required to fill up the Anti-
    Ragging Affidavit through online for which necessary information will be provided after
    admission to the Institute.

For NRI / NRI Sponsored categories, in addition to the above documents, the
following documents are required to be submitted.

  1. Passport of Self / Parent / NRI/NRI sponsored (As applicable)
  2. NOTARIZED AFFIDAVIT from sponsoring person

The candidate who has passed the qualifying examination from any Board other than
Gujarat State Secondary Education Board will be required to obtain eligibility
certificate from Nirma University. The arrangement for obtaining the same will be
made at the time of Admission on the spot payment of Rs.500/- (in cash only).
