Institute of Law, Nirma University organized the virtual Inaugural Ceremony of its 10 day Orientation and Induction Programme for the undergraduate Five year integrated B.A., LL.B (Hons) and B.Com., LL.B. (Hons) students on 24th August, 2021. The function was graced by the eminent presence of Mr Saurabh Soparkar, Senior Advocate, Gujarat High Court as the Chief Guest. Dr Anup K Singh, Director General- Nirma University presided over the event.
Mr Sourabh Soparkar in his address talked on the attributes to be a successful professional. He reflected on his own journey as to how a first -generation law student coming from a suburban or rural background with difficulties in the English language become successful in the law field. He stressed that there are no short cut to success and hard work and perseverance are the essential qualities to achieve success. He stated that every upcoming lawyer must take inspiration from the experiences of eminent legal luminaries. He highlighted on the need to supplement the theoretical knowledge with aspects of law. He emphasized that a lawyer needs to true to himself and the courts, shortcuts will initially bring success but as soon as the judge knows that you are not reliable, it will result in the loss of credibility and reputation.
Dr Anup K Singh, Director General, Nirma University congratulated the new batch of students. He highlighted the role of constitution of a nation and urged the students to make meaningful contribution to the society through the means of law.
Earlier, Dr Madhuri Parikh, I/C Director and Dean Institute of Law welcomed the new batch and oriented the students about innovative curriculum and teaching learning process at the institute. Dr Arun Prasad, Area Head- Humanities and Commerce, the Institute conveyed that the 10 day orientation program will cover sessions on Anti-Ragging, Cyber Bullying, Environment protection, Branding, NGOs, Entrepreneurship, Gender issues etc, which will be addressed by prominent personalities. Dr Arun B. Prasad, Ms Vishakha Gandhi and Mr Abhas Srivastava were the faculty coordinators at the event.
