Institute of Law, Nirma University celebrated its 16th Foundation Day on August 18, 2022. Shri Dushyant Dave, Senior Advocate and Former President of Supreme Court Bar Association graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr Anup K Singh, Director General – Nirma University and Dr Madhuri Parikh, Dean and Director (I/c) at the institute were the other dignitaries at the event.
Shri Dushyant Dave in his address highlighted on the aspect of Constitutional Morality and the need to preserve the trust of people in the institution of democracy. He stated that the framers of the constitution emphasized that the principle of constitutional morality is not a natural phenomenon but has to be cultivated. The constitution of India not only defines the powers of the executive, legislature, and judiciary but also limits their authority. The government must rest on the consent of those governed. He stressed that the constitution is not a distant document but a living reality. He urged the students to develop a critical mindset and engage in constructive debates on various developments in society.
Dr Anup K Singh congratulated the Institute of law on 16th Foundation Day. He urged the students to raise pertinent questions and develop a critical mindset. The young generation has a great role in well-being of the society.
The students who had brought laurels to the institute in scholastic performances, moot courts competitions, debates, ADR, research and publications were felicitated at the event. The event also had a musical performance by singer-composer- Mr Maulik Rathod and dance and musical performances by students as part of the celebration.
Earlier, Dr Madhuri Parikh, I/C Director and Dean Institute of Law delivered the welcome address. She portrayed the journey of the last 15 years of the Institute. Dr Kunal Kishore, Assistant Professor at the institute delivered the vote of thanks. Ms Nikita Koradia was the anchor at the event.
