Mr. Parth Jain, Founder, Legal ToolKit, India. Their visit was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Stephen Barnes, Associate Dean, Penn State Law, USA.
Prof. Gopal Balachandran discussed the technicalities of murder cases with special reference to the decision of Commonwealth v. Subramaniam Vedam. Prof. Balachandran is also leading the legal team representing the defendant in this case. The discussion was exciting and insightful for the students. Prof. Medhavi Singh discussed her journey through Penn State Law and beyond. This was encouraging for the students. She highlighted how the students can prepare themselves for applications to foreign universities and how to receive scholarships. Mr. Parth Jain, a first-generation lawyer, spoke about his entrepreneurial venture FG- Lawkit. He described the challenges faced by first-generation lawyers and how the services of his community-based platform address the requirements of law students by providing them the necessary resources.
