We want an education by which the character is formed, the strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s feet. Education is the manifestation of the perfection already inherent in man.”
– Swami Vivekananda
Welcome to the Institute of Law, Nirma University, where we redefine and reinvent legal education fostering creativity and innovation. The Institute has emerged as one of the best private law schools in the country in a short span of time. It provides an excellent academic ambience that nurtures young minds to legal scholarship in the green, serene, natural environment.
Increasing globalisation of business, faster growth of the Indian economy and advancement in technology have given enormous rise to complex legal issues faced by society at large and that has brought about a paradigm shift in the role of a legal professional. A lawyer today is a policy planner, business advisor, mediator, negotiator, lobbyist, an effective communicator and also a reformer. With the field becoming so vibrant and volatile, we nurture young legal minds for a diverse global career.
The curriculum at the Institute of Law is novel, innovative and has an appropriate mix of substance, skills and ethics. A separate skill lab and capstone courses run parallel with the course curriculum right from the first year. This enables the students to develop a multi-disciplinary approach towards law in the sense that law and other behavioural sciences are seen to be inter-related and exist in mutually beneficial interaction. We also focus on the internationalisation of the curriculum and offers a wide range of international courses through faculty engagement from different jurisdictions of the world.
The aim of the Institute of Law is not merely limited to preparing competent and conscientious members of the legal profession. It is expected to advance and disseminate knowledge of the law and legal processes in the context of national development. Consequently, the Institute of Law endeavour to look at law as an instrument of social change, transformation and overall well-being. The institute strives to inculcate in every student a sense of responsibility towards society and respect for human life, besides developing in them the highest standards of professional behaviour and personal integrity.
With the help of well qualified in-house faculty and visiting experts and international visiting professors, we, at the Institute, strive hard to create an excellent teaching-learning environment so that the students are able to unfold their potential to the fullest.
The Institute of Law is committed to grooming the students as excellent, brilliant and confident law professionals to face the challenges which lie ahead of them in their lives.
