Certificate Course on Teaching and Research – Law of the Sea and Maritime Law

Certificate  Course on ‘Teaching and Research – Law of the Sea and Maritime Law’ conducted by the Institute of Law, under the aegis of Centre for Continuing Education, Nirma University. This course aims to provide an opportunity for participants to understand various provisions and strategies that constitute teaching and research in the area of Law of the Sea and Maritime Law. The course is designed for 60 hours; it is a Six-month, part-time, Online Mode, Four Quadrant– Four Credit Course. The course contents include very significant aspects of Teaching and Research – Law of the Sea and Maritime Law which include; Teaching and Research- Approaches and Perspectives in the area of Law of the Sea, Teaching Pedagogy and conduct research in the area of Shipping Business. Teaching and Research -Maritime Safety and Security, Collision at Sea and Seafarers Welfares- Approaches, Marine Environment and Legal Control and Maritime Liabilities – Policies and approaches, Teaching and Research-Maritime Claims & Dispute Settlements.

The course contents include very significant aspects of Teaching and Research in Law of the Sea and Maritime Law which are: –

  1. Introduction to ‘Teaching and Research in Law of the Sea and Maritime Law’
  2. Teaching and Research- Approaches in the area of Law of the Sea
  3. What and how to teach, and conduct research in the area of Maritime and Shipping Contract- Research and Approaches. (iv)Teaching and Research -Maritime Safety and Security, Collision at Sea and Seafarers Welfares- Approaches.
  4. Marine Environment and Legal Control and Maritime Liabilities – Policies and Approaches
  5. Teaching and Research-Maritime Claims & Dispute Settlements.

The classes will be conducted every Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM through online mode except on official holidays. The duration of the course will be from  25th June 2025 to 25th December 2025.
