About
Dr Deba Ranjan Hota is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Law, Nirma University. He obtained his Doctorate from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, The M. S. University of Baroda. He has qualified UGC NET and has more than a decade of teaching and research experience.
Prior to pursuing academics, he also worked as Education Officer at Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE) now known as The Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development (DTNBWED), Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
His areas of interest are Tribal studies, Human Rights, Sociology of Law and Sociology of Environment. He is the author of two books 'Informal Workers in the Interstices of Formal Sector: Dynamics and Dilemmas' (2020) and ?Vulnerability and Human Rights among the tribes of South Gujarat? (2021).
He serves as member of Ethics Committee for Research at Kadi University. He is also a reviewer of textbook in Social Sciences at Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board. He has also served as reviewer of UGC Care listed journals. He has contributed articles in book chapters and reputed national and international research journals. He is actively involved and contributed as a resource person for research project, symposium, seminars, workshops and conferences at various universities and institutions of repute.
