Mr. Lakshmana Padhan is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Law, Nirma University. He has submitted his Ph.D. thesis and is waiting for the Viva-voice in the Environmental and International Economics area from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal. His doctoral research, titled “Determinants of Environmental Degradation: Exploring the Role of Internationalisation and Green Innovation,” focused on country-level analyses of carbon emissions, green innovation, foreign direct investment, and international trade, including the Pollution Haven and Pollution Halo hypotheses.
Prior to his Ph.D., Mr. Padhan worked as a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) from July 2018 to August 2020, contributing to a project on innovation patterns and firm performance in the Indian manufacturing sector. His research interests lie in the economics of climate change, international economics, innovation systems in firms and industries, energy and resources economics, and industrial economics. He is proficient in econometric modelling and data analysis using tools such as Stata and EViews. Mr. Padhan has presented his work at various national and international conferences and has published papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
