Social Justice

The Centre for Social Justice works under the auspices of the Institute of Law, Nirma University. The Centre engages with discourses in pressing social dilemmas and their interface with law.  We work with the aim to promote causes of social justice through rigorous research, collaborations and exchange of knowledge.

We aim to further the following objectives in the advancement of causes of social justice:

  • To engage in a multidisciplinary study of social issues to assess suitability of legal measures for their redressal.
  • To critically evaluate the norms of society as against the constitutional vision of justice.
  • To establish a network with bodies actively functioning for the causes of social justice for production and dissemination of knowledge.
  • To promote the pressing social causes by acting as a platform for exchange of diverse ideas.
  • To offer training and research-oriented courses in the field of law and social justice.
  • Publication of Centre Newsletter containing review of contemporary developments related to aspects of Social Justice
