Institute of Law was set up under the aegis of Nirma University in the year 2007 with a vision to promote excellence in the field of legal education and to fulfill the ever increasing demand of quality legal professionals for a growing legal world. The Library Resource Cenre (LRC) at the Institute commits to act globally by building cooperative network within and outside the campus. It invests in Human Resources, Collections & Physical & Virtual Library. Empowering Research & Learning community in IL, NU with deep expertise, LRC’s trained professional team is continuously engaged in Innovative Services through outstanding collection development strengthened by strategic management. The Library is highly sophisticated with state-of-art Infrastructure & Technology.
To Focus on and develop Analytic Research Skill in Emerging Scholars of the Institute and assist them in Legal Research , Library plays significant role between the User and Research.
The Library is fully automated with user friendly Library software KOHA Open Source Software and adopted world class technology to provide high quality user focused services.
Library is excellent with rich collection of print and digital collection. More than 12,000 Books, 14 world renowned Databases e.g. Westlaw India, HeinOnline, Oxford Reports on International Law, Oxford Competition Law, Oxford Constitutions of the World, Oxford Legal Research Library, Oxford Investment Claims, Kluwer Arbitration, Manupatra, SCC online etc., and good collection of CD-ROM Databases are the key features of the Library. Library has variety of offline databases like AIR-High Court, AIR-Supreme Court, Criminal Law Journal, Patent & Trade Mark Cases, Supreme Court Cases Online and Gujarat Law Reports. It is also providing Remote log-in facility to access electronic resources 24 X 7 and ensures high network security.
Library is designed beautifully with unique features of International Law Resource Centre, Competitive Exam Corner and Moot rooms.
