The Institute of Law, Nirma University celebrated its 15th Foundation Day on 18th August, 2021. (Wednesday). The virtual programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Padma Shri Anuradha Paudwal– the renowned playback singer, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Anup K Singh, Director General, Nirma University presided over the function. The event also witnessed the special presence of Prof. (Dr) Purvi Pokhariyal, Dean, School of Law, National Forensic Sciences University. A special session was also organised in the evening with Mr. Mohammed Dilawar, Founder, Nature Forever Society, as the Guest of Honour.
Smt. Anuradha Paudwal ji in her session on “Music and Devotion” highlighted the role of music in everyone’s life. She outlined the role of music in human life, and pointed out the curative power of melody. She talked about the contextual positioning of ‘raag’, and how listening to suitable music and suitable time would actually elevate our senses. She stressed that music helps in calming down nerves and helps a great deal in one’s holistic development. She mesmerized the audience by singing a few lines of some of her famous songs on requests of the faculty and students.
Earlier, Dr. Anup K Singh in his presidential address congratulated all students, faculty and staff on the occasion on its foundation day. He acknowledged the noteworthy contribution of the institute in providing justice education. Dr. Madhuri Parikh, I/C Director and Dean Institute of Law delivered the welcome address. She re-collected the remarkable journey of the institute for the last 14 years and thanked all the students, faculty and staff members for playing their respective role in success story of the institute. As part of the foundation day celebrations a musical event and a poetry recitation event was also organised by the students. Dr Tarkesh Molia, Associate Professor, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Prof. Nitesh Chaudhary, Prof Alaukik Srivastava and Dr. Mukti Jaiswal. Prof. Sukrit Garg was the anchor at the event.
