The Institute of Law, Nirma University celebrated its 17th Foundation Day on 18th August 2023. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Professor Gitanjali Gill, Professor of Environmental Law, Northumbria Law School, Northumbria University, United Kingdom as Chief Guest. Shri R A Trivedi, Member Secretary, Gujarat State Legal Services Authority was the Guest of Honor at the event.
Professor Gitanjali in her address shared the vision of Sustainability through creating a delicate balance between economics and social growth. She enlightened the students about the importance of differentiating between one’s needs and greed with active initiatives to reduce and curb the implications of climate change. Shri R A Trivedi congratulated the institute on its foundation day. He stated that he has found the students of this institute to be very proficient in legal acumen. He lauded the efforts of the institute and stated that Legal Aid Committee at the institute is one of the finest in the country.
Earlier, Dr Madhuri Parikh (Dean & Director I/c, ILNU) delivered the welcome address. She traced the journey of the institute and stated that ILNU stands tall as a beacon of Legal Education in the country. As a part of celebration, students, faculty members and staff members were felicitated for their unwavering support in the institution building activities throughout the year. Prof Gunjan Arora, Assistant Professor at the institute was the coordinator of the event. Dr Bini S proposed the vote of thanks.
