The much awaited event of the semester at Institute of Law, Nirma University, The 9th Institute of Law – National Moot Court Competition (IL-NMCC) was held from October 11-13. It brought together students from different regions and law schools across the country. The moot problem was of a case concerning Intersection of Big Data and Competition Law.
The event began with the registrations and the inaugural ceremony which was followed by the researcher’s test in the evening of 11th Oct, 2019. The second day saw the fierce battle of all the 24 teams fighting hard for the place in quarter finals. Out of the 24 teams, the top 8 teams were selected for the quarter finals. The events of the day was followed by gala dinner at Hotel Renaissance, which was graced by our chief guest Mr. Fabricio Fortese, Professor Stockholm University, Sweden, FCI Arb, Dispute Resolution Lawyer and our guest of honour Prof. Nelson Dordelly Rosales, Professor in Vesalius College, Brussels, Belgium, accompanied by Director Prof. Dr. Purvi Pokhariyal. The gala dinner also witnessed a quiz for the participants which kept all the audience highly involved.
School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore was adjudged as the Winners of the Competition and RGNUL, Patiala held the position of runners up. The Chief Guest of the Ceremony were Dr P.N. Bhagwati, Member Board of Governor, Nirma University, Dr. Sukesh Mishra, Director Competition Commission Of India, Ms Pallavi Shroff, Partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Dr. Somashekhar Sundarsen, Independent Counsel.
