The Institute of Law, Nirma University, celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm and spirit under the aegis of the Student Welfare Board on September 13, 2024. The event marked a day of cultural pride, celebrating the richness and diversity of the Hindi language. Hindi Diwas, observed annually on 14 September, commemorates the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of India by the Constituent Assembly in 1949. The celebration provided an opportunity for students and faculty alike to reflect on the importance of the Hindi language in fostering national unity and preserving the cultural heritage of India.
The event featured a series of vibrant activities, including a dance performance by students from all years and a lively Kavi Sammelan (poetry gathering). Through these cultural presentations, the celebration emphasized the relevance of Hindi in modern India and brought the student community together to appreciate its linguistic and literary legacy. The celebration kicked off with an energetic dance performed by students from all years, captivating the entire campus. The Ameya Dance Committee, organized in the institute’s central courtyard, was a spontaneous and joyful display of dance and music, drawing in a large crowd of spectators.
Another highlight of the Hindi Diwas celebration at the Institute of Law was the Kavi Sammelan, which brought together student poets, faculty members, and professional poets to share their works in Hindi. The Kavi Sammelan provided a platform for budding poets within the student community to showcase their talents and express their emotions through poetry. Prof. Neelesh Shukla and Prof. Taruna Jakhar were the coordinators of the event.
