Institute of Law, Nirma Univeristy celebrated its 13th Foundation Day on 19th August, 2019 Shri Rajendrabhai Trivedi, the Hon’ble Speaker- Gujarat State Legislative Assembly, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Also gracing the occasion were, Shri Karsanbhai Patel, President – Nirma University, Shri K K Patel, Vice President – Nirma University and Dr Anup K Singh, Director General – Nirma University.
Professor (Dr) Purvi Pokhariyal, Director and Dean, Institute of Law delivered the welcome address. She traced the journey of the Institute of Law right from its nascent days. She gave three vital points for an institute to succeed- well-defined system, principle of meritocracy and transformatory and visionary leadership. She also brought it to light that it was only through hard-work of the students and the facilities that the ILNU today ranks among the top 10 of Law colleges and top 3 Private Law Universities. She also took this opportunity to facilitate 24 ILNU Alumnies who have successfully cleared judiciary and now sitting judges or magistrate in the various states.
The Chief Guest, Shri. Rajendrabhai Trivedi congratulated all the students and the institute for outstanding accomplishments. He also told that legal fraternity is the body which provides oxygen to the entire system. According to him, for a lawyer to successful is to be honest, be hardworking and to develop strong urge to succeed. His speech was also distinct by anecdotes which connected legal profession with the Story of Krishna and Maya Yashoda.
The Chief Guest and all the dignitaries released Volume 8 of the Nirma University Law Journal and thus, unfolded the days of hard work put behind bring the scholastic research to the world of academia. The Institute also facilitated their alumnies who are today District magistrates and First – Class Magistrates from four states- Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP and MP. Medals were also decorated to facilitate all students who bagged laurels in the fields of Model United Nations, Moot Court Competition, Debating Competitions, Alternative Dispute Competition, National Cadel Corps, Academics.
