Inaugural ceremony of the Orientation and Induction Programme of the new Undergraduate Batch 2023-28 organised on 17th July, 2023. Hon’ble Mr Justice Ravi R Tripathi, Former Chairperson, Gujarat State Human Rights Commission, Government of Gujarat and Judge (Retd.) High Court of Gujarat graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri K K Patel, Vice President, Nirma University presided over the function.
Hon’ble Mr Justice Ravi R Tripathi in his address spoke about the diverse opportunities in the area of law. He said that the career choices in law are fascinating and demanding at the same time. He shared that ‘Read, Read and Read’ is the mantra for success in the field. He urged the students to stay away from the distractions of technology and make best use of time for acquiring knowledge. He encouraged the students to aspire for Judicial services as a career goal. “The legal profession provides a great opportunity to make a difference to the society”, he added.
Shri K K Patel in his address congratulated the students for securing admission in law programme at Institute of Law. He advised the students to work hard and be disciplined and committed towards studies and strive towards excellence in all spheres. He motivated the students to dream big and be responsible citizens.
Earlier, Prof (Dr) Madhuri Parikh Director and Dean (I/c) Institute of law delivered the welcome address. She shared that the institute aims for all-round development of its students. In addition to the regular law courses, the institute has skill lab courses covering communication skill, debating, mooting, legal writing and professional training. She stressed that the institute has a strong mooting culture and clinical professors provide training for mock-trial, client counselling. She urged the students to develop empathy, professional ethics, sincerity and discipline.
Dr Arun Prasad – Associate Professor at the Institute delivered the vote of thanks. The induction program is being coordinated by Prof. Vishakha Gandhi. Prof. Nikita Koradia anchored the event.
