Mental Health Awareness Programme

The Institute of Law, Nirma University organized an insightful ‘Mental Health Awareness Programme’ for Semester I students on October 9, 2024. This session was organised to help deepen students’ understanding of mental health challenges, particularly those they may face as they embark on their legal careers. The guest speaker Ms. Pinkal Panchal, Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, AMFT based in Los Angeles-USA, conducted the session. She shared valuable knowledge on how stress can be identified and managed using various coping mechanisms. The programme stood out for its interactive format, ensuring that students were actively engaged. Through the use of an online app called Mentimeter, participants could reflect on their personal stress levels in real time, helping them recognize the factors that may be contributing to their mental well-being. A significant focus of the session was on mindset formulation and raising awareness about how the mental health of law students is critical for their future professional lives. The overarching takeaway emphasized the interdependence of different aspects of life—personal, academic, and professional—and their collective influence on mental health. The lecture was attended by around 250 students.
