Institute of Law, celebrated inaugural of B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) / B. Com., LL.B. (Hons.) function of the Orientation Programme held 18/07/2019. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. N L Mitra, Former Vice Chancellor, NLU Jodhpur and NLSIU, Bangalore as Chief Guest.
Prof. N L Mitra, in his address, started with the quote “Learning comes from every side” and narrated his personal life experiences and various encounters with his previous students. He insisted that the library is the learning laboratory of the law students in as much as science laboratory is for the science students. It is only by being constantly updated with latest developments in society that a lawyer can gain the learning experience he aspires for.
Earlier, Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Director and Dean, in her welcome address, equated the institute as a “Modern Temple of Learning” and discussed the importance of sincerity and commitment in the profession of Law. She also emphasized on the hard work one must do and there is no shortcut to success. Prof. (Dr) Jyotsna Yagnik, Adjunct Professor, focused on role and duties of a lawyer in administration of Justice. She emphasized on the importance of Clinical legal education for upcoming legal professionals.
Dr Arun Prasad, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks.
