Institute of Law, Nirma University organised a theatre event for Semester I students on 8th August 2024 to enhance their knowledge and create awareness about increasing cyber crimes. Shri Ajay Kumar Tomar, retired police commissioner of Surat delivered an informative talk about various types of cyber frauds prevalent in society, which are defined and addressed in the Information Technology Act of 2000. It was followed by a theatrical performance titled “Cyber Attack”. The artists enacted real-life scenarios of cyber crimes that occur frequently in society. The performance emphasised the responsibility required of individuals to protect themselves from cyber fraud, which can result in privacy breaches and financial losses from bank accounts. This event encouraged students to study and understand the importance of cyber laws in our country and how they affect the public.
